Legendary Springsteen Sax Player Dies

Rock legend and beloved E Street Band saxophone player Clarence Clemons died today.  He was 69 years old.

Bruce Springsteen issued this statement:

“It is with overwhelming sadness that we inform our friends and fans that at 7:00 tonight, Saturday, June 18, our beloved friend and bandmate, Clarence Clemons passed away. The cause was complications from his stroke of last Sunday, June 12th.”

Best known for blazing riffs on tracks like “Born To Run” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out”, Clemons’ unmistakable sound gave the band its edge and made lifetime fans of rock music lovers all over the world.

R.I.P.
